Discussion

  • In all instances there was a slightly smaller FWHM obtained from the Mira Pro alignment than any of other method including the double-size alignment in Mira.
  • The advantage ranged from 0.3 to 0.38” in FWHM.
  • While this is not enormous, it was a consistent advantage.
  • In the spirit of Adam Block's video, every bit of resolution helps to make every pixel count.
  • The attached JPEG versions of the M092 images (These are JPEG saves from CCDStack after DDP and auto scale are applied consistently to all images) will permit the reader to make a visual inspection of them and to inspect them in A/B fashion to see if the difference is significant for themselves.
  • I have decided based on these results that, where resolution is not critical, I will use CCDStack.
